In honour of my travels, and my well documented love of Africa, today I am sharing some ideas for a tribal African-inspired wedding. An earthy palette of copper, terracotta and ivory immediately bring to mind the image of a hot, dusty plain, the rhythmic beat of tribal drums in the distance, announcing the arrival of our bride, adorned in colourful beads and a long, floating dress.

The colour pink is associated with all things feminine, romantic and girly.  It’s unashamedly pretty, and so obvious why it’s also the colour we associate most often with weddings.  Today’s inspiration takes the paler, softer tones of blush and nude and teams them with black lace, to create a subtly sexy, grown up look.  Using [...]

We’re starting off the week with some airmail-themed inspiration. Navy and red are striking colours for a wedding, especially one with a retro air-travel feel. An airhanger or airfield venue would be a fabulous location for this style of wedding! The elegant navy, white and blue are brought to life with vibrant, but classic pops of red.

So with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s the perfect excuse to indulge in all things red, white and heart shaped. Throw in a few Cupid inspired arrows, a dessert table full of sweet treats and a pure white cake with a surprise heart in the middle and you’ve got yourself one chic, unique and playful wedding theme.

Today’s pretty inspiration has me dreaming of hazy summer days, a soft combination of pretty hues perfect for an afternoon wedding. Pale tones of pink, yellow and blue are beautiful colours for a celebration with a touch of feminine whimsy and a dash of sparkle.

Laid back rustic, with a touch of French elegance and sophistication sounds like a pretty good idea for a wedding to me! The pretty patterns of toile on fabrics and even china add a touch of vintage charm to an outdoor farm wedding. Eclectic is the order of the day, so don’t worry if it doesn’t all match perfectly, just add a few solid punches of colour here and there.

With the depths of winter slowly feeling a little further away, and the bulbs beginning to peek out of the soil a little early this year, I am feeling ready for spring! To me, spring is a clean, fresh and pretty season, delicate flowers starting to bloom, new fresh green grass covered in early morning dew, the perfect time to start a new life with the love of your of life!

I’ve long been a fan of succulents used as part of your wedding decor, and we often see them used alongside moss and timber details to create a rustic look. I think succulents are underrated, and would love to see them pop up in more glamorous schemes too!

Using rich oranges and warm golds you can create a beautiful, elegant and glowing palette for an autumn wedding. Just as the leaves are starting to fall and the sun is a little lower in the sky, nature provides it’s own wonderful palette, follow it’s lead and add touches of a brighter orange to lift the scheme and give it some light.
